Well, St Patrick’s Day has been-and-gone. Do you know what St Patrick did? He chased the snakes out of Ireland. Pretty easy task if you ask me. I could claim I chased the snakes out of New Zealand and they don’t make me a saint.

Anyway, I have some concerns about St Patrick’s Day. Being of Irish descent, I love the celebration of Irish culture – music, dancing, stew and binge drinking… What offends my sensibilities is the shitty plastic hats, people dressing as stupid racist stereotypes, dumb badges with flashing lights and all the other crap that retard marketing fuckwits at booze companies come up with each year.

Having said this, we paid Saatchi & Saatchi $50,000 to come up with our St Patrick’s Day campaign and I must say the ”Irish Beer” and “Kiss Me I’m Gay” badges were a stroke of genius.

We had an excellent night with Tim and Mikey playing some awesome music and remaining concernedly sober (maybe because both their mummies came up to see them).

Without planning it as such, all the girls that work here are former dancers, so we loaded them up with rum and they danced their wee socks off all night long. Pam, Sarah Hickey and Anna (drunk) also made an appearance. The rumour that Shane MacGowan was supposed to show up never eventuated but some people are saying that the guy that danced with the girls may have been Michael Flatley.
